However controversial this opinion may be, I focus more on a psychological solution than a moral one. Yes, it's perfectly fine to read about incest. Often, victims don't realize they are in an incestuous relationship and are being abused, because, yes, incest goes beyond rape or a "simple" kiss. Reading and analyzing this content is sometimes necessary to connect the dots and understand what's happening. What's not right is normalizing it and downplaying its importance because "it's more normal than it seems." Even if you already know you were abused and are aware of what you went through, reading and analyzing can help you heal. I know it sounds immoral, but as I said, I see things psychologically AND not with the internet moral shit. Whatever, how? Reading about this can be comforting because many victims feel guilty, unsavory, and maladjusted. No, incest should not be normalized; it is WRONG. But normalizing silencing victims is ALSO wrong. The silence of the victims is not only because people see it as a "taboo" subject, but also because society prefers to normalize it, downplay its importance, and not report much about incest. Especially between siblings. But it's always best to seek professional help, since reading and analyzing won't do everything.
Conclusion? Yes, it's perfectly fine to read and it's a tool. But always accompany it with professional help. Don't normalize incest, don't say it's okay. But speak about it. ππ»
For popular example, proshipping/darkshipping. Im not into this online discussion much because I have this interesting thing called life. But most proshippers are people who cannot/dont know how to seek adequate help, and the environment they are in normalizes it or sends them death threats and sometimes rape threats for doing so. Many antis act as anti-victims and silence them instead of trying to help them. Thats also a problem. Darkshipping/proshipping its not ok, but this system does not really help incest victims to improve. So reading on your own gives you a more realistic view, not one created by people who aren't victims and who want you dead for talking about it, even from the victims themselves who believe they are superior because they cope "better." Wow, I think I strayed a bit from the question, hehe.
